Mentoring

It’s here again! The ABAW Mentoring Program is set to kick-off its new academic year at the KCTS Public Television Channel Pledge Drive on November 28, 2007 at 6:00 pm.

But there’s one thing missing … You! Thank you for expressing interest in the program. We would love to have you participate as a mentor or a mentee.

As background, the ABAW developed this program to help establish meaningful relationships between attorneys, law professors, judges, and law students in the Asian community, here in Washington state. We hope this program will assist a "lawyer-in-training" by easing the transition from student to professional. In the broader sense, we hope that this program will provide all participants with opportunities for career development and personal growth. The program is loosely structured to give you and your mentor/ee flexibility for juggling schedules, planning activities and fostering group participation. As with last year, each participant will be a member of a “mentoring group.” Each group will have two mentors and up to three 2nd and 3rd year law students. This way, the format provides a combination of large group, small group, and on-on-one mentoring opportunities. We strongly encourage
mentors and mentees to meet one-on-one with each other throughout the course of the year and/or attend the mentoring large and small group meetings.
